Carlos's journey embodies the spirit of Austin's ingenuity and unwavering commitment to service. A native Texan with deep roots in the community, his path began with a passion for technology, studying Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin straight out of high school.

Life had other plans, launching him into a unique entrepreneurial adventure. He spent years traveling the country, mastering sales and performing crucial repairs on the *first generation of point-of-sale systems* revolutionizing the food service industry. Based out of Dallas-Fort Worth, he honed his skills in client relations, problem-solving, and understanding complex systems.

The family called him back to Austin, where his talents took a new direction. Carlos built a highly successful career in construction, completing millions of dollars in contracts and running his own thriving tile company. This hands-on experience gave him an intimate, practical understanding of building quality, project management, and the needs of homeowners. Recognizing the physical demands, he wisely transitioned his sharp business acumen and deal-making prowess into the world of real estate.

His exceptional ability to connect with people and forge successful deals isn't just a skill – it's character. As noted in Robert Leonetti's *Absolute Wealth*, Carlos's drive and genuine connection with others are remarkable. This stems from a profound source: his deep love for his community, his steadfast commitment to his Christian faith, and his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. These core values infuse everything he does, fostering trust, integrity, and a sincere desire to help others succeed.

Driven by compassion, Carlos is currently channeling this commitment into founding a nonprofit in Austin. Fueled by a heartfelt calling, the organization focuses on serving those it sees as our community's most vulnerable: the homeless and veterans. This mission reflects his core belief in giving back and lifting others up.

As Chris's mentor and partner, his deep industry knowledge, unwavering ethical compass, and genuine passion for empowering others are the bedrock of our company. Carlos is dedicated to leveraging his expertise to help homeowners find smart, reliable investment and construction solutions, building not just properties, but brighter futures.

Austin has been my home since 1983, though my journey started as an army brat – an upbringing that taught me adaptability early on. After graduating in 1987, I served the City of Austin in diverse roles: safeguarding building records at the city hospital and Records Department, and starting out operating a forklift in a warehouse. This hands-on foundation instilled a deep appreciation for tangible work and seeing a job through to excellence.

Driven by that desire to create, I launched my own tile, marble, and glass block installation company. The greatest satisfaction? Hearing people admire the craftsmanship and ask, "Who did this work?" Life then took an adventurous turn when I partnered with Dave Winkey, learning the carnival business and traveling extensively across the US, forging lasting connections coast to coast as independent carnival ride owners.

My path took a profound turn in 2018 with a liver disease and cancer diagnosis. After a courageous fight and a successful liver transplant, a devastating industrial accident in 2022 led to a life-threatening blood clot. Facing overwhelming odds and given only weeks to live, I chose to fight. Thanks to the extraordinary skill of Dr. Kato in NYC, I underwent a rare unclassified multi-visceral transplant – receiving a new stomach, duodenum, small and large intestines, pancreas, liver, and kidney – in one marathon surgery. This second chance came after an immense struggle, including losing half my body weight.

Today, I greet every sunrise with profound gratitude and a renewed passion for connecting with people. My incredible wife Jessica has been my constant rock since we married in 2014, she was instrumental in my survival. Embracing this new lease on life, I'm thrilled to embark on an exciting new chapter, co-founding Corvus Investments alongside my brother, Carlos.

Carlos brings 30 years of industry experience and a deep, genuine commitment to giving back to our community – qualities that make him not just my partner, but my mentor.
